MaiAgent, Taiwan's enterprise generative AI platform provider, announced on February 23 a strategic partnership with iGroup (Asia Pacific) Limited, appointing iGroup as the primary distribution partner for MaiAgent's AI Agent platform across the Asia-Pacific region.
Under the agreement, the collaboration covers 18 markets — Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Myanmar, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Mongolia, and Bhutan — targeting university libraries, academic research institutions, and government research agencies. The collaboration takes effect in February 2026.
According to Mordor Intelligence, the Asia-Pacific AI education market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 44.2%, making it the fastest-growing region globally.
Founded in 1983, iGroup operates in more than 20 countries, serving universities, national libraries, and research institutions. Through this partnership, MaiAgent will leverage iGroup's extensive distribution network to enter the Asia-Pacific academic market.

MaiAgent's platform is built on proprietary Agentic RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) technology, ensuring AI responses are grounded in authentic institutional documents rather than generating content from scratch. For high-accuracy scenarios such as citations, data references, or policy queries, the platform employs a structured Template mode to minimize misinformation risks at the architectural level. AI Agents integrate seamlessly with library management systems (ILS), institutional repositories (IR), and research databases, supporting natural language queries.
MaiAgent has been adopted by over 100 enterprise clients across academia, libraries, and various industries, with the platform's technical maturity and stability validated by the market.
The partnership has already shown tangible progress. In Thailand, iGroup has successfully introduced MaiAgent to landmark academic institutions including Chulalongkorn University, the Asian Institute of Technology, and Suan Dusit University, demonstrating strong market interest in AI Agent technology for academic research and intelligent literature retrieval.
Additionally, iGroup's technical team has adopted MaiAgent's Agent development module as a product foundation to build customized solutions for different client needs, further expanding AI Agent applications across academic and research settings.
MaiAgent's platform addresses core pain points for academic institutions with four key use cases:
Smart Literature Search — AI instantly recommends relevant literature and summarizes key findings based on natural language research queries, replacing the traditional keyword-iteration workflow.
Research Assistance Q&A — Researchers can ask direct questions about papers and reports; AI identifies key passages and annotates citations to accelerate literature review and cross-referencing.
Library Smart Services — 24/7 AI automatically handles common inquiries such as borrowing policies and collection searches, freeing library staff to focus on higher-value services.
Institutional Knowledge Base — Structures scattered research outputs and technical documents into a conversational AI knowledge repository, reducing the risk of knowledge silos.

MaiAgent CEO Chang Chieh-Jung stated: "This partnership is a crucial step for MaiAgent to enter the international academic market. Academic research demands high standards of accuracy and traceability — which is precisely what MaiAgent's platform is designed for. We hope to leverage iGroup's network across Asia-Pacific to help more research institutions discover how AI Agent technology can enhance research efficiency."
iGroup spokesperson stated: "We are delighted to represent MaiAgent, an outstanding AI platform. Universities and research institutions are actively seeking advanced technologies to improve research efficiency, and the timing of this collaboration is ideal. AI Agents will play a vital role in accelerating information discovery, analysis, and knowledge creation, and we look forward to bringing this technology to academic communities across Asia."
Through this partnership, MaiAgent and iGroup are committed to transforming libraries from traditional information repositories into intelligent research hubs, enabling researchers to leverage AI-driven agents and tools to conduct research faster, smarter, and more efficiently.
